The Christmas wish tree is made up of the dreams and wishes of children in shelters and substitute homes, sent to Santa Clause. To make sure that these do not just remain dreams, pick a gift from the Christmas tree and make a donation to the best of your ability.

Study scholarship

Study scholarship
The study scholarship programme of the SEB Charity Fund (hereinafter the Fund) was created to support children in replacement care in making decisions about their future and taking their first steps in their independent lives, and to give them equal opportunities to continue their studies, develop individually, and realise their talents.
All persons up to 25 years of age who live or lived in replacement care (substitute home, foster family, guardianship, continued care service), who are continuing their studies in basic, upper secondary, vocational, or higher education institutions are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

The scholarship is intended for:

• payment of tuition fees or refresher training
The tuition fee or refresher training scholarship is a single allowance (of up to 640 euros) to support pursuing education or refresher training in the desired field. Candidates who have to pay tuition fees are also eligible to apply for the scholarship to finance them. Documents or certificates proving previous education are required to apply for the refresher training scholarship. The candidates must indicate their own contribution on the application when applying for the scholarship.

• purchasing study supplies
The scholarship for purchasing study supplies is intended for candidates whose study results benefit from the existence of study supplies (e.g. scissors for a hairdresser, kitchen knife for a chef, brushes for a construction finisher, comfortable work shoes for a nurse, or computer program for a multimedia specialist). The scholarship is a single allowance (of up to 640 euros). The candidates must indicate their own contribution on the application when applying for the scholarship.

• monthly subsistence support
The monthly subsistence support scholarship is granted to the applicant for a period of five months in the amount of 100 euros per month.

• seed capital to start independent life
The seed capital scholarship is intended for enrolled candidates who have left replacement care to start independent life, or are planning to. The seed capital scholarship is intended for purchasing means to start independent life and furnishing a new home. The scholarship is a single allowance of up to 300 euros and the application must indicate the applicant’s own contribution of at least 10%.

Scholarships are awarded twice a year – in February and September. The deadline for submitting applications for the autumn 2019 semester is 23 September.
