The Christmas wish tree is made up of the dreams and wishes of children in shelters and substitute homes, sent to Santa Clause. To make sure that these do not just remain dreams, pick a gift from the Christmas tree and make a donation to the best of your ability.

SEB Eesti Ühispank employees establish a club to support the Charity Fund

In June 2007 the Charity Fund invited employees of SEB Eesti Ühispank to establish a club in support of the SEB Charity Fund. 21 big-hearted and enterprising volunteers applied for membership, willing to invest their time, skills and attention for the good of children from shelters,
with whom they will plan national and regional events full of interesting activities. These fun events will include horseback riding, a picnic and nature hike, a trip to the zoo and the cinema, theatre performances and more. The idea is to spend some great days out with the children and to show them that people care about them.

People often think that children in shelters are bad and criminals in the making. “The children themselves aren’t ‘difficult’,” she explains. “What’s difficult is the burden they carry, what they’ve gone through in their lives, and what that brings with it. We can support them as they prepare to live independent, adult lives. Even the slightest of contact with great friends is useful to children, as it contributes to the various facets of their development. Everyone wins when friends extend a helping hand!
