Required documents

Applicants must fill in an application form with their personal data. Applicants are also required to submit the following:

  • a certificate from the educational institution confirming that the applicant has been entered in the school's student list;
  • an extract of the previous semester’s study card (except students in their first semester) issued by the schools study department
  • the applicant's motivation letter where the applicant gives the reasons why they want to start/continue studying and explain how the scholarship supports their studies. The motivation letter must include a description of the applicant's economic status (a list of income in free format). The length of the motivation letter must be up to 3000 characters;
  • a letter of recommendation from a teacher, child welfare worker, curator or guardian that contains a character reference of the applicant. The length of the character reference must be up to 3000 characters;
  • the court judgement, on the basis of which the applicant has been appointed a guardian; a curatorship contract (valid or expired); the document evidencing the basis of staying in a shelter or substitute home.

Personal counselling is offered to all applicants (for further information, send an e-mail to, which explains the issues concerning the scholarship if necessary.

The documents must be drawn up in Estonian and e-mailed to at the latest by 20 September.
