Consequences of childhood complex trauma in adulthood

Studies conducted in recent years on the biological aspects of going through traumatic events show that extensive changes often occur in the nervous system and in the functioning of the entire body as the consequence of trauma: brain activity, integrational ability, memory, hormonal regulation, functioning of the immune system etc. changes.
So that specialists working with children had an opportunity to notice the trouble of a child on time and help the child in the best possible way, the Trauma therapy and training centre held a one-day training course “Consequences of childhood complex trauma in adulthood”. Acknowledged Nordic experts on complex trauma and trainer Anna Suokas-Cunliffe shared with the listeners their knowledge and experiences of complex trauma as a developmental trauma and how it will affect body and mind. With the support of SEB Charity Fund 25 employees of foster homes and shelters had the opportunity to take part in the training course.
