Application round for the study scholarship will open with a total fund of EUR 50,000

SEB Charity Fund announces the scholarship programme for young people living in a guardian family or foster family, safe house or substitute home. Young mothers may also apply for the scholarship.

In 2014, the scholarship fund is EUR 50,000 and the term for submitting an application is 26 September.

The scholarship is meant for the following purposes:
• paying tuition,
• buying study materials and/or
• paying monthly expenses,
• paying for day-care (kindergarten) (scholarship for young mothers)

The aim of the programme is to provide young people without parental care with opportunities equal to those of young people living with their parents to continue their studies, develop individually, and realise their talent. Good education reduces the possibility of falling under the poverty line and the scholarship helps support young people in coping when making decisions concerning their future.

Scholarships are financed with donations received by the Fund and the return on investments of the Fund’s assets.

The scholarship is meant for young people up to 26 years of age living in a guardian family or foster family, safe house or substitute home, who want to start or continue their education, studying full-time at a vocational school or institution of higher education. The scholarship may be applied for by all young women who became mothers before 19 years of age while living in a guardian family or foster family, safe house or substitute home and who are younger than 26 years of age at the moment of applying for the scholarship and who wish to start or continue their studies, study full-time at a basic school, upper secondary school, vocational school or institution of higher education.
